Winds Through The Olive Trees, GP-218 The inspiration to create the Winds Through The Olive Trees design was the memory of a children’s Christmas song that was much more popular in Europe than in the U.S. Very little is known of its origin. Those of us who do know the song, remember it from our early childhood. I was reminded of this long forgotten song by a Glendon Place fan that I will just call “Frances”. Thank you Frances for reminding me how beautiful this song really is. It also brought back some very fond Christmas memories. This design is a tribute to you who I know loves this song as much as I do. Model: on 28ct “Crystal Pampas” Lugana hand-dyed by Picture This Plus. Lugana was specifically used because it tends to dye just a little lighter than linen. I was trying to achieve a lighter shade of this particular Picture This Plus color. The color came out perfect on the Lugana. Please keep in mind that if you choose to stitch it on Linen (in the same color), it will be darker. Stitch count: 238w X 328h Mill Hill beads required: 02019 Materials Summary: A total of 7 colors of Dinky-Dyes 600d silk floss and 1 color of Sullivans floss (for attaching beads) were used in the model. “Best match” Sullivans, DMC and Anchor floss are provided. Please note: 3 skeins of the Winds Through The Olive Trees exclusive Dinky Dyes floss is required to stitch this pattern |
