Summer Schoolhouse

Brenda tells us: "all the projects are what I call "tiny work" & finished into smalls. All designs are worked on 28 count Mushroom Lugana, over 1 thread. All six of the abecedarian-themed projects coordinate and are designed to be placed together for a striking vignette of tiny hand work. I love how these finished out, and am excited for you to see the end results. It should be a fun summer of stitching!"
The designs are stitched on 28 count Lugana using a variety of hand dyed cotton floss and hand dyed ric-rac from Lady Dot Creates.
A note on the fabric layout from Brenda: "A couple of notes about the Summer Schoolhouse ~ Lessons in Abecedarian. Many of you now have linen, floss and chart in hand and are getting ready to begin. If you purchased a 9" x 55" cut of the 28 count Mushroom Lugana, follow the pattern instructions, please. The pattern tells you to use a piece 7 5/8" x 9" for your cross stitch work. Simply measure 7 5/8" down on the 55" side of your fabric, pull a thread and cut along the missing thread, giving you a piece 7 5/8" x 9" for stitching. You will continue to cut from this strip of fabric, following pattern instructions, as the series goes. Following the pattern instructions will ensure that you will not run out of fabric, and it is easier then stitching with the whole 9" x 55" piece of fabric in hand. I have been asked, "can I stitch this all on one piece?" I guess anything is possible, but keep in mind this series was not designed for this manner of finish. The lessons are not all the same height and don't fit together like a puzzle. The finish is intended to look like tiny, individual lessons and will all get displayed in an old fashioned school box...more details on this to follow."
